Alicia Otto has been the Administrative Coordinator for Alumni Relations and University Advancement for almost 15 years. Otto recently accepted to be the Alumni Relations Manager at the University of Saint Mary, and she is very excited about the new opportunity.

Over the past years Otto has worked with so many different people here at Missouri Western.

“I work with a lot of great people. I work with not only the departments within my division, but I also work closely with other departments on campus. I partner with other campus departments to plan events like GradFest, Commencement and Homecoming,” Otto explained.

Kimberly Weddle is the Executive Director of Advancement and Alumni Relations. Weddle has been working with Otto for the past six years.

“Alicia has strong relationships with all of the Alumni Board members. We will all miss her terribly but are excited for the new opportunity for her to run with her own Alumni Program,” Weddle said.

Some of Otto’s favorite highlights at Missouri Western include the Barbershop Harmony singers, Boy Scout Merit Badge College, the Alumni Board meetings, the Commencements, Homecoming, Alumni Awards Banquet and parades.

“To all the people I worked with at Missouri Western, I will miss you. The family that we became will not be forgotten but will be missed. To all the students that I worked with or had class with, I already miss you,” Otto said.

Kimberly Weddle explains Otto’s work ethic to be “incredible.”

“Alicia gives 150% to everything she does. She is a Griffon through and through. Her talents have expanded as she took classes to complete her degree. Alicia is a skilled writer, designer, photographer, social media guru and a people person. She knows almost everyone or knows of their family. It is kinda like she is the Kevin Bacon of St. Joe, Alicia Otto degrees of separation,” Weddle said.

Everyone is sad to see Alicia Otto leave Missouri Western but is happy for her new opportunity at the University of Saint Mary.

“I am sad to be leaving Missouri Western but am happy for all the connections that I have made in the last 15 years. I am a proud Griffon and very proud of my degree. My diploma will look great in my new office!” Otto said.
